I've never updated this.

Hello!

Now that I finally have a digital camera I may update more often. I also want to spend more time working on personal artwork than school assignments.

Herro, this is Mike Sotomayor. How are you, Sarah?
:iconsundropglass:
Mike!!! I'm doing okay, pushed my senior show back a semester... Hadn't heard anything of you since you graduated! How are things going?
:icontheprimith:
Yeah, 4 years as an art student tends to be a little too much for both. It was probably wise to give yourself an extra semester of breathing room, so you can actually enjoy college before your senior show. I'm guessing you're probably already doing this, but I'll say it anyway:

Make sure your semester you have your senior show is a low on classes, and the classes that you do have are a blow-off as you can make them. The senior show will have you running around like a crazy person, and it is best to have as little in the way of distractions as possible.

Currently still unemployed, but I am currently doing freelance t-shirt designs. Two of my ideas are being seriously considered by Snorgtees.com as we speak. In all other aspects of life, I am doing well enough.
:iconsundropglass:
Yeah, I plan on taking Ceramics along with a blow-off course with my senior show in the fall. I've talked with several people in ceramics and they've told me if I work diligently I can get everything done in class.

As for the blow-off class, I'm unsure...any suggestions? I could always take it as credit/no credit and then not be so paranoid about the grade I receive.

If you're interested in looking up some printshops in Chicago, you could put your traditional printing knowledge to work for you. :P Several places have ALOT of viscom needs for design layouts on traditional fliers and pamphlets. You would really enjoy the print club we've formed at school, we have guests come in and speak to show us some of the commercial possibilities in Printmaking.
:icontheprimith:
Man, if you could get all of your work done, that would be... just like high school. Which would be great. Knowing you, though, you'll probably take the time to make sure things are just so, so some outside time will probably be required regardless of your diligence.

As for a blow off course... I dunno. I didn't have any that I could just ignore my last semester. Well, creative writing was fun for me, and it doesn't TOO much time. You spend about as much time reading other people's work as you do working on your own, and at least with the teacher I had, the course was not terribly demanding. If I recall correctly, you had to write 2 5-page short stories and at least 3 poems just for the semester. I actually ended up writing about 30 pages for one story and 1 poem, but...

Print shops might be an interesting idea. I'll have to check that out.

Oops. I didn't realize you were not on my watch list...
