Artist's Comments

This project was an independent study on the exposure creations of colored oil and water in photo-sensitive screenprinting.

In this first study, I used plastic wrap on either side of vegetable oil mixed with an oil-based black ink splattered with water. The screen was exposed to light for 3 1/2 minutes.

The water created crisper lines than the oil, which gave a fade-out around the borders of the treated area.

Printed on 60lb white cardstock with a tone-pull of leftover metallic inks. It really only shimmers when the sunlight hits it just right.

I'll let you see the actual print prior to that study that I used metallic inks with. Then we can shine light on it and bask in the shimmery-goodness!
